Invisible Creature//

Ryan (Left) & Don (Right) Clark two brothers are the founders of the Graphic Art studio Invisible Creature, Seattle. I best know these two from the band Demon Hunter, which till recently I had made the discovery of Invisible Creature which I can say truly inspired, shocked and motivated me. Being heavy influenced for design by music, and having been a Demon Hunter fan for the past 5 years. I never knew two band members from a band which has inspired me  5 years with music, would have ever added a lot more inspiration and passion towards my Creativity. Also having a huge number of major clients and musicians that I never discovered until 4 weeks ago. I had to check my P.O.D and Foo Fighters albums to be sure. So apart from the shock of the discovery…

… “Why has Invisible Creature really inspired me creatively??” Has I did some research into the Invisible Creature, and having a look into the back catalog of past and present work. I notice that within the Illustration and Design Creativity style remains mysterious, imaginative, and precise throughout. I also find some of the typographic style quite sufficient to the designs, such as the Foo Fighter’s “Echoes Silence Patience & Grace” and Norma Jean’s “O God The Aftermath”. I liked the way some of the text has been scratch out and etched in such a crude and rough style. I also liked the idea behind Hawk Nelson’s album “…is my Friend” by adding a new feature which was the Boardgame. Some thing I had never seen or as unique in any of the albums I had ever brought or seen.

If this has inspired you in anyway I would suggest researching into Invisible Creature and have a look at their back-catalog. I would just like to thank Ryan & Don clark for being an inspiration to me in so many ways. Whether it’s been Music or Graphics these two are extremely talented, passionate, and foremost uniquely imaginative, Thanks Guys!  There will also be link to Invisible Creature website below. I would also suggest checking out Grain Edit’s website for the Invisible Creature interview (link below), Don Clark revivals all!

Typography Project – Final Piece

Final Piece for University Typography Project

This is my final piece for my piece for the first Typography Project for University. This was my first time using the Grid System, and I must say it’s essential for layout. But this piece is suppose to demonstrate my understanding within typography, what I have learnt, and my views for Typography.

Scott Hansen// A Passion for Creativity

Scott Hansen is a Freelance Graphic Designer known as ISO50 and musician also known as Tycho. I am deeply passionate and inspired by Scott Hansen’s style, techniques, and typography. His colour scheme is like no other, normally in todays modern society we usually come across black and white designs as we more forward into a future of simplisticity and balance. Scott Hansen work rarely consists the use these two colour elements, but you could say he prefers a more classic approach. Either why this is one of Scott’s key techniques that has drawn a whole range of clients such as: Computer Arts, Dual, Dusty Brown, Game Developer, and even the famous Progress Poster for Barack Obama’s presidential election campaign which Scott did in support of Obama’s call for Change.
The second element of Scott Hansen’s techniques that has inspired me was his Illustrations and Ideas. Normally his Illustrations are quite simple, like when drawing out the simple structure of an object. Giving a bold, and striking appearance which I find is the perfect to capture the eye. But he then overlays certain areas of his work with brush stoke textures giving that fine art appeal. With that in mind he sometimes expands the style of his work by using patterned effects such as pixal, and the sunrise effect which helps trigger the striking effect.

The third element that has really inspired me is his unique style of Typography. In today’s society most typography is seen as clean, balanced, and simplistic. But as we move further and further into the future, most designers are thinking out of the box and Scott is no exception. Within his typography he has created a style which is simple, balanced, and risky. I believe Scott knows there’s no limit to experimenting within typography, and that stretching far beyond the boundaries is a risk that all typographers and designers should take. This is one of the very reasons I believe this is the reason Scott Hansen is beginning to stand out and influence the new generation of designers today.
If your interested in Scott Hansen there is a link to his website below. Don’t hesitate to comment or criticize this entry, I would like to hear your views and thoughts of this entry. I would like to Thank Scott Hansen, for this passion, enthusiasm, and creativity for Graphic Design. He has deeply inspired me and won’t fail to in the future.
