Welcome, I’m Dave Ablett. A Graphic Designer currently studying BA/Graphic Design at Portsmouth University.

I have decided to create this blog to give you (the audience) a better understanding of how I’m inspired, what I’m inspired by, the artists that have influence me and the techniques/methods I work in. I will also be updating you on the projects I’m undertaking (Work and Educational), what I’m going to be focusing on, and maybe the process throughout the sketchbook. Also all tips/hints I come across I will pass on to you personally.

Although Graphic Design isn’t my only passion. I’m also an on and off freelance Photographer. My passion for photography comes from Life and the beauty of it. “If I’m not doing Graphic Design I’m doing Photography, and If I’m not doing Photography I’m doing Graphic Design” has to be a quote I use from time to time, but usually it’s not true.

I’m also a complete Media freak, a lot of my inspiration comes from Films, Animation, Illustration, Matt Paintings, etc…..but most importantly Music! Without my passion and enthusiasm for music I can’t say I would be a Graphic Designer today. Music has been the highlight of my inspiration, and I personally believe most of my techniques, style, and methods have been created across Music. The genre of music that I’m most interested in is Rock/Hard Rock/Metal, but more recently I’ve become more open minded with Music thats led me onto genres such as Trance (Chilled), DnB, DubStep, etc…….but not forgetting Michael Jackson!
